**Overview**
Smyle ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use the Smyle app.
**Camera and Face Data**
Smyle uses your device's front camera to capture a single photo when you initiate a smile check. The app does not collect facial geometry, facial recognition data, or biometric identifiers of any kind.

*What face data does the app collect*: A single still image captured from your front camera at the moment you choose to unlock your apps. No video is recorded. No facial mapping or geometric data is derived from the image.
*How face data is used*: The captured image is transmitted to the Anthropic Claude API solely to receive a numerical smile score between 0 and 100. This score determines whether your selected apps are unlocked and for how long. The image is used for no other purpose.
*Third party sharing*: The image is sent to Anthropic's API for smile scoring only. Anthropic does not retain the image beyond the immediate API request and does not use it for training or any other purpose. The image is not shared with any other third parties.
*Retention of face data*: Face data is not retained. The image is captured, transmitted to the Anthropic API, scored, and immediately discarded. No images are stored on our servers or on your device beyond the duration of the API request.
*Storage*: Only your smile score (a number between 0 and 100) is stored, not the image itself. Scores are stored on our servers to power your smile history and streak tracking.

**Data We Collect**
Smile scores and unlock history are stored on our servers to power your history and streak. Subscription status and purchase history are managed by RevenueCat and Apple. Anonymous usage data helps us improve the app. Your email address is collected if you create an account.

**Screen Time Data**
Smyle uses Apple's Family Controls framework to block and unblock apps on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

**Third Party Services**
Anthropic processes smile images for scoring. RevenueCat manages subscription billing. Apple processes payments and Family Controls. MongoDB stores your account and usage data.

**Your Rights**
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen. Contact us at [email protected] for any privacy requests.

**Children**
Smyle is not intended for children under 13.

**Changes**
We may update this policy. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any changes.
